Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshman Walks To The Forest


According to Ramayana, Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana was asked by Queen Mother Kaikeyi to leave the Kingdom of Ayodhya and go on an exile to the forest for 14 years. 

When Rama, Sita and Lakshmana went on exile, they set up a hut in Panchavati, an area near Nashik. Lord Rama is an avatar (incarnation) of the Supreme Lord Sriman Narayana who ruled the Earth as a very righteous King. Lord Rama is a descendant of Ajapti, grand father of Lord Rama.

Major Puranas Are Eighteen

There are 18 Puranas. So, what is a Purana?

Simple, puranas are ancient texts. They can considered as part of the vedas. They contain narratives about the history of the Universe from creation to destruction and the genealogies of kings, heroes, sages and other races, incarnation of God, about deities etc. Some puranas also provide information on cosmology and geography.

Bheema, The Strongest Who Broke Shata Shrunga Into Pieces


bhIma is an avatar (incarnation) of Mukhya Prana (Vayu, the Hindu wind God). He is represented as 'Gyana' (knowledge) amongst the Pandavas. He was born to Kunti Devi and Pandu as Mantra Prasada (gift due to a recitation of a mantra) from Vayu Devaru (Wind God). He was a great devotee of Lord Narayana and he never ever violated the words of Lord Krishna. When he was very young, he slipped from his mother's clutches and fell on the Shata Shrunga Parvata (parvata-mountain) and the mountain broke. He was born with such strength.
